Pick your question pack, split the room into 2–4 teams, set the 20-second timer, and roll film. Reel Culture is the Black cinema trivia party game — no downloads, no cards, no sign-up required for the free starter pack. It runs right in the browser on any phone, tablet or TV.

How to Start a Game

Select your question pack from the setup screen. The free starter pack has 25 questions drawn from 100 classic Black films — Friday, Coming to America, Boyz n the Hood, Love Jones, Selma and more. Each question comes with four answer choices, a 20-second timer, and a fun fact revealed after every answer.

Big Screen Mode

Tap "Put on TV" to activate Big Screen Mode. The game moves to the TV or monitor while you host from your phone. One person controls the flow — revealing answers, advancing questions — and every team plays from the same screen. No per-player accounts, no downloads for guests. If you are hosting from a laptop, Big Screen Mode turns any connected display into a proper game-show scoreboard.

Team Setup

You can play solo or split into up to 4 teams. Name your teams anything you like — Elders vs. Grandkids at a reunion, or His Side vs. Her Side on date night. Team scores update after every question and the final standings screen shows the winner at the end.
