Spoiler notice and a careful definition
Spoilers follow for every film named here. “Black horror” is used here as a practical selection label for films made by Black filmmakers and/or centered on Black-led casts and Black perspectives. It is not a claim that every film shares one style, history, or audience. This list includes supernatural horror, social horror, Southern-Gothic psychological drama, vampire comedy, and horror satire so the genre is not reduced to one formula.
What is in the 30-question set?
The Classics group covers the 1992 Candyman, the 1995 anthology Tales from the Hood, and Kasi Lemmons’s 1997 Eve’s Bayou. Eve’s Bayou is deliberately labeled a psychological drama with Southern-Gothic and supernatural elements, not a slasher. Modern selections move through Get Out, Us, Nope, and Sinners. The Horror-Comedy round brings in The Blackening and Vampires vs. the Bronx. Category labels show both the film group and an easy, medium, or hard signal, so a host can vary the pace without pretending that “easy” means the same thing to every audience.
Read aloud, or try the general free game
You can use this page as a host sheet: read one question, let the room answer, then reveal the answer and fun fact. If you want automatic scoring, the general free Black movie Starter is the playable link; these article questions are not presented as a special Halloween pack. That game supports solo play or two to four teams, offers a 20-second default when the clock is enabled or a no-clock option, and offers 10-, 16-, and 25-question lengths. Big Screen Mode is already available for a television or shared display. Pick the format that fits your room and keep the conversation going after each reveal.
